How to Turn Your Home Space Into a Workspace in 4 Steps

You are working in the comfort of your own home. Your home space just turned into your workspace! And how do you create a great workspace at home? I’m glad you asked. Check out these 4 great tips:

There are so many great things about working from home: working in cozy clothes, no office distractions, more time with loved ones, and ZERO commute. If you work in Silicon Valley, that’s your favorite perk!

But, you know what the best perk is?

You are working in the comfort of your own home. Your home space just turned into your workspace! And how do you create a great workspace at home? I’m glad you asked. Check out these 4 great tips:

Stand, Sit, Lay Down, Just Get Comfortable

Do you dread looking at the walls of your cubicle at the office? Or is it sitting in that work chair that never gives the best height and recline level? Well now that you're at home, just get comfortable. Make comfort your priority. Work downstairs in your favorite La-Z-Boy. Sit up and get to work right in your bed. If you need to be close to the coffee machine and fridge, pull up a chair in the kitchen, work comfortably.

Work With What You Have

You may not have a home office, no worries. You probably have a kitchen table, and if that doesn’t work there's always your lap. Remember you’re at home. Everything else, chances are it’s around the house: printer, pens, notepad, phone, food, and coffee. You will soon find out you can be just as productive at home as you are in the office.

Let it Shine, Let it Shine, Let it Shine

Not everybody can walk outside to their patio and receive natural light while writing emails or taking calls. Take full advantage of it. Free your mind, take a deep breath of fresh air. Both are extremely powerful in remaining efficient and productive while working. Enjoy the sun and the shade, a dose of Vitamin D does the body good.

Can You Hear Me Now?

We can all agree bad connection and slow Wi-Fi can become very frustrating, especially while working off a mobile device or laptop. Be sure to choose the best location in your home that gives you the most speed. Prioritize what items need to be on your Wi-Fi connection: phone and laptop I assume will be a must. Nothing makes a manager more comfortable than a responsive employee.

With 4 simple steps, you can turn your home space into your new workspace. Enjoy! You are working from home, you can be productive while being close to your loved ones. You can excel at your work steps away from your bed. My only advice, stay away from binge-watching during work hours. Leave those for the night!
